In Haiti's Central Plateau, the challenge of place is not one of choice but of necessity: With just one doctor for every 50,000 people, Partners In Health (PIH), a medical nonprofit that has worked in Haiti for almost three decades, rejects the notion that the infrastructure gap makes it impossible to deliver high-quality health care to the poor.
