EAPSEC organization and people
The EAPSEC team in Chiapas employs a nimble, horizontal organizational structure in which two senior community health educators/facilitators work alongside the medical director and program administrator to train community health workers and support local capacity building efforts. In addition to managing the organization's finances and overseeing logistical planning, the program administrator also serves as EAPSEC's expert trainer in traditional Mayan medicine and the use of medicinal plants. The two community health educators/facilitators oversee the clinical and health promotion work at EAPSEC clinics, where community health workers and medical staff provide primary care services to neighboring poor communities.
