Donate Supplies or Equipment
Partners In Health prefers to procure supplies, equipment, and medications in the countries where we work whenever possible. We believe it is important to strengthen local public supply chains and stimulate the local economy. When what we need isn’t available locally, we make bulk or specialty purchases from international vendors, allowing us to standardize supplies and ensure that our staff have products that are appropriate in the local context.
Corporate Gifts In Kind
Supporting the needs of health systems in the countries where we work is an expensive task, and PIH benefits from corporate partnerships to receive consistent donations of product to support our work. If you are a representative from a pharmaceutical, medical supply, or medical equipment company, and would like to discuss opportunities for partnership via in-kind donations, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
Medical Supply Recovery Organizations (MSROs)
PIH also works closely with Medical Supply Recovery Organizations, which provide new and refurbished equipment and supplies at no or low cost. If you are from an MSRO and would like to discuss opportunities for partnership, please email email@example.com.
Individual Gifts of Supplies, Equipment, and Medication
We often receive offers of medications, supplies, and equipment from individual supporters. If PIH is not contacted prior to shipping, we cannot guarantee that we can accept any donation. If PIH is unable to accept a donation, we’d be happy to provide you with a list of MSROs that may be able to accept it. We ask that all supporters read the following guidelines before contacting us about a donation:
*PIH is unable to accept anything that is expired. PIH is unable to accept opened medications, or opened sterile supplies (catheters, syringes, etc.).
*All items must have expiration dates greater than six months from the date of donation. Equipment must be less than 10 years old. Equipment must be in good condition, and have all accessories needed to be fully functional.
*PIH cannot normally arrange for un-installation of equipment.
*Supporting documents such as owner’s manuals or certifications should be included whenever possible.
*PIH cannot normally provide funds for shipping, but can review donations on a case-by-case basis.
