How to Save Global Health

Webinar Date: Friday, April 11, 2025,  12 p.m. ET / 9 a.m. PT
Description: Partners In Health leaders, Dr. Joia Mukherjee, PIH chief medical officer, and Vincent Lin, PIH associate director of health policy and advocacy, joined Asia Russell, Health GAP (Global Access Project) executive director, to discuss what could be done to ensure health is a human right for everyone. The U.S. government’s push to withdraw from WHO, dissolve USAID, and freeze critical foreign aid programs threatened the movement toward global health equity and endangered millions of people’s lives. Joia, Vincent, and Asia discussed the fight they were in, what was at stake, and how to advocate for and stand in solidarity with the most marginalized around the world. Global Health Justice Week was a global campaign inspired by the legacy, teachings, and impact of PIH’s co-founder, the late Dr. Paul Farmer. This year, the focus was on the importance of unity and solidarity in the fight for health justice.

Turmoil, TB Care, and Taking Action

Webinar Date: Monday, March 24, 2025,  12 p.m. EDT / 9 a.m. PDT
Description: The Trump administration recently slashed foreign aid, cutting off lifesaving access to medication and support for hundreds of thousands of people who are fighting tuberculosis (TB)—the world’s most deadly infectious disease. These harmful actions sparked outrage and disbelief among the global community of clinicians, advocates, researchers, and survivors who know firsthand the dire consequences, specifically to vulnerable populations around the world. For World TB Day, Partners In Health invited leading TB experts, authors, and thought leaders to shed light on what these cruel actions meant for patients and the centuries-long fight against TB, and to discuss the hope and power that persisted through the coordinated actions of activists and allies.

Partners In Health strongly opposes these moves and sees them as an attack on the right to health and an unjust wielding of presidential power. In this webinar, PIH leaders discuss these executive orders, their impact on global health, and what they mean for the countries where we work and the people we serve
