PIH Remains Vigilant as Irma Grazes Haiti

Partners In Health staff in Haiti were relieved to report Friday that Hurricane Irma left the region of the country they support largely unscathed. Torrential rain and strong winds battered the Central Plateau and lower Artibonite, but left no major damage to facilities. Staff had not reported any storm-related injuries or deaths as of Friday afternoon. They are concerned about the days ahead, when the increased rainfall could spark a rise in cholera cases throughout the region.
