The New York Times: The Coffin-maker Benchmark

  • By Nicholas Kristof in The New York Times

In Bobete, in rural Lesotho, we visited a clinic run by Partners In Health, the aid group founded by Dr. Paul Farmer of Harvard. The clinic tests virtually all pregnant women in the area for H.I.V., and those with the virus are given treatment so that they will not pass it along to their babies.
