On February 14, 2026, the Paul E. Farmer Maternal Center of Excellence (MCOE) in Sierra Leone opened to its first patients, marking the profound transition from years of planning to delivering lifesaving care for women and newborns.

Like 1 in 4 children in Haiti, Raphaël was starving. His mother took him to a PIH-supported malnutrition clinic, where he was immediately hospitalized and began treatment. Now, thanks to PIH’s help, he’s growing strong and healthy.
