The PIH supply chain team’s mission is to efficiently and effectively deliver the materials needed to provide high-quality medical care in settings of poverty.
PIH primarily buys medicines, primary care supplies, specialized medical equipment, and lab supplies. We use a competitive process for supplier selection based on price, quality, availability, and shipping performance.
Prospective suppliers should provide a statement of interest with the following information: number of years in business, company address & company representative information, length of time supporting the requested or similar products, up to three customer references, and either a W-9 (domestic suppliers) or W-8BEN-E (international suppliers) form.
All suppliers should follow PIH standard purchase order terms and conditions. Suppliers who respond to a request for quotation certify:
- The supplier will comply with all applicable international, federal, state, and local laws and regulations and has obtained all applicable permits, rights, and licenses
- The supplier is not subject to OFAC sanctions and is not currently subject to any exclusions under the U.S. Government’s System for Award Management
- The supplier does not knowingly support, employ, or do business with, directly or indirectly, individuals, entities or groups known by the supplier to support terrorism or to have violated OFAC sanctions
- The supplier has not changed its name in the last five years except as disclosed in a writing to PIH
