Watch: Dr. Christophe Millien Discusses Urgent Needs in Haiti
Amid continued civil unrest that has closed other hospitals, PIH staff continue to treat patients, keeping every clinic and hospital operational.
As a response to growing pressure on our systems and staff, PIH is crowdfunding the cost of six major equipment replacements or upgrades at PIH’s University Hospital in Mirebalais, Haiti (HUM). Dr. Christophe Millien, chair of HUM's Obstetrics and Gynecology Department, sat down to explain the urgent needs for equipment.
While Dr. Millien focuses on the lifesaving power of ultrasound machines, PIH is crowdfunding the cost of six other major purchases, including: an electrosurgical machine, another anesthesia machine, patient monitors, replacement probes for the ultrasounds, and patient-return electrodes for electrosurgical machines.
