HIV Curriculum

PIH clinicians are trained in the main aspects of comprehensive HIV/STIs and tuberculosis treatment and management, including diagnosis and treatment using clinical algorithms, adherence support, patient education, prevention, partner notification strategies, and prevention of HIV transmission from mother to child (PMTCT).

Prevention of Mother-to-Child Transmission of HIV

PIH trains its community health workers in Rwanda to help women with HIV learn to stay healthy and prevent passing HIV to their babies during pregnancy, delivery, and postpartum (preventing mother-to-child transmission or PMTCT). Rwanda Ministry of Health protocols are followed.
