Webinar Date: September 22, 2021

Description: Across the country, community health workers have become trusted messengers on the front lines of strong primary care systems, accompanying patients, helping manage care, and coordinating with health centers and hospitals. Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, this workforce has ensured people have the social and material support they need to stay safe, while also building trust in the vaccines. Today’s panelists will lead a dialogue speaking to the essential role of this community-based workforce.

Achieving Equity in Vaccine Rollout: Integrating Social Support Programs to Build Healthier Communities

Webinar Date: March 17, 2021

Description:With Emergency Use Authorization of three effective vaccines and more in the pipeline, and 1.4 million doses being administered every day, we are finally at a place where the end of the pandemic doesn’t seem so far out. However, we have quickly realized that the "miracle" narrative surrounding the release of the vaccine distracts from the very real implementation challenges we face in translating vaccines to vaccinations. And in placing all our hope in vaccines, we risk pulling attention further away from the community mitigation and testing measures that are critical in ending this pandemic, even with an effective vaccine in existence. Furthermore, we risk running too quickly away from the stark realities laid bare over the course of the pandemic: we were impacted severely largely due to long-existing problems with our health system, which has excluded entire communities from care and social support.

COVID-19 Vaccine Rollout: Effective and Equity-driven Operations

Webinar Date: February 24, 2021

Description: With the disappointing early pace of COVID-19 vaccine rollout, how can we improve planning and administration? This session shares practical tools and experiences from a range of programs; we’ll discuss how they have been able to forecast and adapt in a complex supply and regulatory landscape, to staff and resource vaccination sites, to make vaccines accessible to those who may be excluded from typical vaccination opportunities, and to identify useful metrics for distribution that consider social vulnerabilities. A series of case studies are followed by Q&A and discussion.
