Unit 13: Conducting Research

The unit discusses ways in which conducting evidence-based research can inform your interventions to improve the health and well-being of your patients and the community. Careful planning should precede the decision to conduct a formal research study. If your organization does not have the capacity for a formal study, a small pilot study or collaboration with another institution that is leading a study can help establish the foundation for your organization’s future research. Doing so may also afford your organization access to infrastructure, technical assistance, and ethical and administrative oversight required for the study.
